HBAGC Highlights
HBAGC’s New Focus:
There’s no secret that 2009 will be a year of change. We have a new administration preparing to take over the White House for the first time in 8 years, and are likely to have new Illinois Governor by the end of February. It’s a different world out there, and HBAGC is adapting. Earlier this week the 2009 HBAGC Board of Directors took the initiative to overhaul our staff to return back to our association’s core mission: education and advocacy. To accomplish this, we’ve brought Kurt Kojzarek over from the Attainable Housing Alliance to serve as the association’s new Administrative Director. Kurt will be working with Rita Unzer to coordinate new member education programs to prepare our members for the upcoming financial challenges the market has in store for the home building industry. Kurt will also continue to work with our Government Affairs groups to promote good public policy. Rita will continue coordinating chapter and council programs. Feel free to contact Kurt at kurtk@hbagc.com or Rita at runzner@hbagc.com if you have any questions.
Building America’s Dream:
HBAGC is in the process of improving Building America’s Dream to include more information specifically targeted to our members’ needs. This publication is more than a monthly newsletter, it’s a behind the scenes peak into the home building industry. As we continue to move forward, we are looking for your thoughts and views as well. If you are interested in writing a guest column, or would like to submit an editorial please forward your article to kurtk@hbagc.com no later than the 5th of every month.
