At the NAHB Spring Board of Directors meeting I attended in June over 2,000 directors were in attendance.  I can tell you that all I heard anyone talk about was green building.   In June, the NAHB Board of Directors voted to invest more than $2 million in the creation of a new National Green Building Program which will work to create a user-friendly certification program for our members.   The bulk of this money will be spent at the NAHB Research Center.

Last Friday, our local Green Demonstration Home was featured in the Chicago Tribune.  Reporter Leslie Mann called the 4,200 square-foot-home a “living laboratory” for our members on “how you CAN build a spacious house with comfy amenities that is also eco-friendly.”  We are excited to offer another opportunity to our members to visit the home for the third presentation of the series.  On July 11th, Bill Styczynski and a new team of experts will be discussing the next steps you can take to go green! Click here for more information or contact Kathy Calandriello for more information on our newly formed Green Building Committee.  As your association we are committed to providing you with the tools you need to stay on the cutting edge of your business.

Lake County Golf Outing Don’t forget! The annual Lake County Golf Outing will be held on July 26th at White Deer Run.  Click here for more information or contact Rita Unzner.
