At the September 27th meeting, the Regional Board of Directors of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago unanimously endorsed the BuyNewBuyNow.org program and will be playing a role in the development of the action plan. The association will take on an advisory role and have oversight responsibility.
"This is really an opportunity to make a difference in the marketplace," said Peter Schwartz, CEO of HBAGC. "Together we will be able to raise the awareness of our industry and ultimately increase new home sales. Our sum is truly greater than our parts."
The initiative will be launched within the fourth quarter of 2006 and will be featured in major media outlets in Chicagoland. The centerpiece of the whole project will be the website that is currently up and operating at www.buynewbuynow.org. Version two of the website will feature links to participating builders in an easily searchable format.
Accompanying the online component will be print ads running in major newspapers throughout Chicago. These ads will primarily focus on driving traffic to the website but will also focus on key elements that make buying a new home the smart choice. These key elements are available for viewing at the website along with a comprehensive glossary of real estate terms and home buying FAQs.
Phase two, which will launch in 2007, will include complete marketing collateral and point of sale items for all participating builders. 2007 will also see a full out grass roots campaign designed to target consumers looking to buy a home.
BuyNewBuyNow.org’s goal is to let consumers know what is really going on in the real estate market. BuyNewBuyNow.org wants the consumer to know all the facts about new home ownership to help them make an educated decision when it comes time to make the biggest purchase of their life.
